Tradeco, spol. s r.o. (Ltd.) Uherské Hradiště was established in the year 1990. In the first years of its existence, the company was engaged especially in business activities and exported live cattle and pigs. At the beginning, Tradeco was engaged also in breeding and established a breeding station ISB GENETIK in Havlíčkův Brod together with a foreign partner RPN VERDEN. Tradeco earned sufficient funds from the export of cattle to expand its business activities. The company started exporting frozen beef and pork as well as importing meat materials and entrails for domestic meat processing plants and shops. In the years 1993 - 1997 Tradeco took a lease of a small pig and cattle slaughterhouse with a smoked meat processing shop in Havlíčkův Brod, but the leasing was later cancelled due to low effectiveness and high rent.

In the year 1997, the company purchased a greengrocery wholesale warehouse in Uherské Hradiště on Průmyslová street. Then, a part of the building was leased and the remaining part was gradually remodelled to four coldstores. The trade with frozen meat was further expanded and the company started trading with frozen chickens, gooses, turkeys and portions thereof.

In the year 2000, another strategic decision was made to build a modern deboning plant for pork and beef with the production capacity of 20 tons/day. At present, Tradeco spol. s r.o. Uh. Hradiště is engaged in the following main activities:

• pork and beef production and trade
• poultry and poultry portions production and trade

During the company existence the yearly turnover ranged from CZK 250 mil. to 400 mil. No year ended with a loss. The earned funds were appropriately invested. Current assets and cash amount to CZK 64 mil.

The company has 70 employees. There are company subsidiaries in Brno and Havlíčkův Brod. Tradeco runs 6 retail shops and disposes of own vehicle fleet consisting of 15 trucks, out of which 13 are vehicles of lower weight class, 1 vehicle of middle weight class and 2 truck trains of the highest weight class. Highly skilled personnel allow the company for further successful development.
